Taipei promotes Confucian culture with new audio guide at Confucius Temple

Recently, the Taipei City Government invited a well-known food critic to design 10 Taipei-style Confucian dishes inspired by the ancient Confucian scholars enshrined in Taipei Confucius Temple, combining their legacies with culinary heritage. Now, Taipei Confucius Temple has officially launched a brand-new audio guide system, bringing visitors from around the world closer to Confucian culture.

Visiting the grand Taipei Confucius Temple, with its southern Chinese architectural style, is like stepping into a hall filled with the profound wisdom of Confucian sages. But where to begin this enriching cultural journey? Taipei Confucius Temple has recently completed a multilingual audio guide service in Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean, offering both “individual audio guide devices” and “group audio guide devices” within the venue.

The audio guide content covers a wide range of topics, from the overall spatial layout of Taipei Confucius Temple, its historical legacy, and introductions to each hall, to the beauty of the architectural carvings, as well as the virtuous stories of Confucius and the Four Accompanists and Twelve Philosophers (Confucius’s disciples) enshrined in the Dacheng Hall. Each theme is accompanied by maps and images, with the entire tour lasting approximately 60 minutes.
