One-Day Tour of Five Popular Attractions Along Taichung’s Green River Corridor: Charming Retro Inn

The Green River waterfront, blending nature and art, was a highlight of Taichung’s “Little Kyoto” during the Japanese colonial period. The area is surrounded by well-known attractions such as the Miyahara Eye Clinic, stylish eateries like Shengqiao Guabao, and the Old Taichung Train Station... among others, creating new highlights for tourism in central Taichung and attracting many visitors.

1. Green RiverLight & Art Exhibition
The Green River incorporates public art and utilizes water elements to create a diverse and creative artistic space, fostering a culturally rich riverside landscape.

The riverbank preserves memories of the past greenery along the shore, using native Taiwanese tree species and riparian hanging plants to present a unique waterway space, as well as a new Green River shaded walkway.

The Sakura Bridge, built during the Japanese colonial period, has been restored and presented to visitors after the river’s renovation, allowing close-up views of its historical traces.

2. Miyahara Eye Clinic
Built by Japanese ophthalmologist Dr. Miyahara Takeo, the Miyahara Eye Clinic is constructed from retro red brick tiles and sells famous Sunrise Pineapple Cakes and ice cream, drawing in visitors.
