Pengwan Cross-Sea Bridge Seeks Performance Teams

Since its opening to traffic and navigation at the end of March this year, the nation’s first movable bridge—the “Pengwan Cross-Sea Bridge”—has attracted large crowds of tourists every holiday afternoon at 5 p.m. during its regular opening hours. To make this opening spectacle even more captivating, the Dapeng Bay Management Office has launched the “Creative Selection for the Pengwan Cross-Sea Bridge Opening Performance Plan.” The top three creative entries selected will share a prize pool of NT$60,000, and will help craft a unique and exciting performance tailored for the “Pengwan Cross-Sea Bridge.”

The Dapeng Bay Management Office stated that in order to enhance the 10-minute period when the bridge remains open and stationary, they hope to gather creative ideas through the “Creative Selection for the Pengwan Cross-Sea Bridge Opening Performance Plan,” incorporating artistic elements. This initiative aims to turn the Pengwan Cross-Sea Bridge into a performance stage while ensuring the safety of both performers and spectators. The submission deadline is 5:30 p.m. on July 31.
