Summer Sea Route: Taichung Blue Ribbon Marine Tourism Season

A summer trip isn’t complete without a breeze from the sea and a feast of seafood. The Taichung City Government has planned the “Taichung Blue Ribbon Marine Tourism Season” from July 23 to September 4. Free shuttle buses and guided tour services are available every Saturday and Sunday in Wujhi, Qingshui, and Shalu, allowing the public to easily visit various exciting attractions in an eco-friendly way.

The Tourism Bureau stated that this event collaborates with local associations and residents, using tourism, food, culture, business districts, and ecology to make Taichung’s coastal area the brightest blue pearl in central Taiwan. The free shuttle buses will stop at ten stations: Juyeh Shalu Station, Wujhi Dazhuang, Chaoyuan Temple, Imported Goods Business District, Wujhi Tourist Fishing Port, Gaomei Lighthouse, Gaomei Wetlands, Port Art Center, Juyeh Qingshui Station, and Luliao Garment Business District.

During the event period, guided tour services are arranged at each shuttle stop to promote the unique features of the coastal area through word-of-mouth. Visitors can sample Qingshui’s rice cakes, Shalu’s meatballs, and Wujhi’s fragrant seafood—each popular Taiwanese snack has a charming historical story behind it. In addition, on the evening of August 6, during Qixi Festival, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, the “Century Romantic My Love Wujhi (My Wife) Gala” will be held, inviting couples to sign up and enjoy a romantic Qixi night together.
