To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic of China, the "Taiwan Top 100 Brands Selection," organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Economic Affairs and executed by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council, announced its final list of 100 brands yesterday (July 26) after seven months of evaluation. In the tourism and leisure category, China Airlines, EVA Air, and Silks Club (Hotel Royal) were selected; in the food and beverage service category, 85°C, Din Tai Fung, and Wang Steak all made the list.

To showcase the spirit of Taiwanese brands and encourage outstanding brand enterprises, the Bureau of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Economic Affairs commissioned the Taiwan External Trade Development Council to organize the "Taiwan Top 100 Brands Selection." The selection includes 10 major categories in the product sector and 8 major categories in the service sector. The evaluation criteria consist of two stages: the first stage involves quantitative data screening such as financials and brand information, with scoring based on brand management, industry standing, financial health, and outstanding brand achievements. The second stage includes peer reviews among shortlisted companies, surveys of corporate executives and consumers, and in-depth interviews with industry opinion leaders. The final selection of Taiwan’s Top 100 Brands is determined by the selection committee.

EVA Air has achieved strong business performance and has also entered the list of Taiwan’s top 100 brands.

Taiwan’s industrial development has gradually shown results in transitioning from contract manufacturing to innovation and the creation of self-owned brands. Renowned brands such as Acer, BenQ, HTC, ASUS, and GIGABYTE have gained considerable recognition internationally. The selection also emphasizes cultural creativity, featuring brands that embody Taiwanese culture. This year’s competition includes culturally creative brands such as A-DATA, BenQ, GIGABYTE, Holga, L’Oréal, PChome, Shiatzy Chen, and others.
