Airline services are getting more convenient. Singapore Airlines has announced that starting today, economy class passengers can directly pre-select their seats when booking through any ticketing system. Previously, only passengers who booked on the Singapore Airlines website could pre-select their economy class seats. For those who booked through other systems such as travel agencies, other airlines, or the Singapore Airlines customer service center, economy class passengers could only choose whether their seat was by the window or the aisle, but could not directly select a specific seat number.

Starting today, travel agents or airline staff using the global reservation system, as well as Singapore Airlines customer service personnel, can assist economy class passengers in pre-selecting their desired seats when making a booking. This seat pre-selection service was previously only available to passengers traveling in Suites, First Class, and Business Class.

Although Singapore Airlines economy class passengers can now pre-select seats through all booking systems, special seats such as those that can accommodate bassinets, seats in the same row as emergency exits, and seats reserved for passengers with reduced mobility are not available for general seat pre-selection during booking.
