A Michelin three-star itinerary in Tainan for just NT$999 per person

With the release of the movie “Seediq Bale,” whose director Wei Te-sheng is from Tainan, and the arrival of migratory birds such as black-faced spoonbills and black-tailed gulls in large numbers to Tainan’s “Qigu” and “Beimen” areas after the Mid-Autumn Festival for wintering, this has also spurred a surge in local tourism around Tainan. To capitalize on this, Tainan has launched a one-day tour called “Strolling Through the Salt Town. Happiness for 999” for just NT$999 per person, with one person sufficient to book the trip. The price includes transportation, guide services, and admission fees—offering great value for independent travelers.

Chen Jun-an, Director of the Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau, pointed out that in the Taiwan Green Travel Guide issued by the French Michelin company this year, Tainan was rated as a top-tier three-star city, signifying that Tainan’s unique tourism and cultural resources have earned recognition from the Michelin guide. To allow visitors to deeply experience the unique Taiwanese flavors of Tainan’s coastal salt town, and to visit the Michelin-recommended three-star must-see attraction—Nankunshen Daitian Temple—those who stay at any of the 16 partner hotels within the Tainan Tourism Industry Alliance can register at the hotel front desk to join the ultra-value NT$999 one-day coastal salt town tour.

The full itinerary includes City Tour transportation, entry to Nankunshen Daitian Temple’s Grand Kun Garden, the former residences of notable figures from the Tainan business circle known for their auspicious feng shui, such as the Crow Landing on Foreign Soil site, the Jingzijiao Tile-Yard Salt Fields where you can experience salt drying and take home authentic Taiwanese coarse salt for a spa-like experience, the Taiwan Blackfoot Disease Medical Memorial Museum, Beimen Visitor Center, Taiwan Salt Museum, Qigu Salt Mountain, and the Sicao Mangrove Green Tunnel, among other attractions.
