This selection event for the “Top 10 Best Hot Springs” was conducted in two stages. The first stage involved a public vote, accounting for 70% of the total score, with local governments and hot spring associations actively campaigning, resulting in fierce competition. The second stage was evaluated by experts and scholars based on seven criteria: hot spring quality maintenance, unique features, atmosphere creation, integration with creative industries, safety and hygiene, maintenance of a friendly environment, and presentation and Q&A performance.

Guanziling Hot Spring
Guanziling Hot Spring has been ranked as one of Taiwan’s Four Great Famous Hot Springs since the Japanese colonial period, alongside Yangmingshan, Beitou, and Sichongxi. It is an alkaline carbonated spring with temperatures around 75 degrees Celsius. Its most distinctive feature is its black, muddy-looking water, which is rich in minerals.
Guanziling Hot Spring has been ranked as one of Taiwan’s Four Great Famous Hot Springs since the Japanese colonial period, alongside Yangmingshan, Beitou, and Sichongxi. It is an alkaline carbonated spring with temperatures around 75 degrees Celsius. Its most distinctive feature is its black, muddy-looking water, which is rich in minerals.

Beitou Hot Spring
The Beitou hot spring area generally refers to over ten locations including Thermal Valley, Longfeng, Phoenix, Hushanli, and Xingyi Road. In a narrower sense, the “Beitou Hot Spring Area” mainly refers to the area surrounding the “Beitou Hot Spring Hydro Park,” including Zhongshan Road, Guangming Road, Xinmin Road, and Quanyuan Road. This area has larger and more concentrated hot spring hotels, as well as the richest natural and cultural resources.

Jiaoxi Hot Spring is a rare plain hot spring in Taiwan, belonging to the sodium bicarbonate spring category. It is rich in chemical components such as sodium, magnesium, calcium, potassium, and carbonate ions. The spring water is clear and odorless, with a temperature of about 58°C when it reaches the surface. It leaves the skin smooth and delicate without stickiness. Due to its rich mineral content, it is highly beneficial to health whether used for soaking, bathing, or consumed as processed mineral water.
