A Fireworks and Classical Music Gala to Celebrate National Day – Sun Moon Lake Concert on October 9

This year marks the fourth consecutive year that Taiwan Mobile has collaborated with Sun Moon Lake, teaming up with the Philharmonia Moment Musical Orchestra to host the “Taiwan Mobile Sun Moon Lake ‘Love That Lives Forever’ Concert” on October 9, the eve of the centennial celebration of the founding of the Republic of China. This time, Philharmonia Moment Musical has arranged the program based on the order of creation in Genesis, with themes including Earth, Love, Wind, Spirit, and the New Heaven and New Earth. They have invited the Atayal indigenous choir, Qiwang Choir from Hualien’s Xiulin Township, to perform songs from *The Lion King*, expressing the resilient vitality and deep emotions of the primal earth through the close bond between indigenous peoples and the land. A mother-daughter duo will interpret the theme of love, with Bi Zhian also performing solo renditions of Gershwin’s *Summertime* and Bizet’s *Habanera*. For the Wind theme, in addition to the popular *Pocahontas*, the orchestra will play the finale of Saint-Saëns’ Symphony No. 3 “Organ,” accompanied by dazzling fireworks. The Spirit theme will feature the Qiwang Choir singing a newly adapted version of the classic 1986 Cannes Film Festival Best Film *The Mission* in the Seediq language.

Due to the large number of attendees expected at the concert, it is recommended to arrive at Sun Moon Lake before 2:00 PM. For transportation, consider using the Sun Moon Lake Transport Pass. Take the “Taiwan Tourist Shuttle – Sun Moon Lake Line” from Taichung. If you use the “Sun Moon Lake Tourist Shuttle” pass, which includes cable car and boat tickets, you can travel all the way from Sun Moon Lake to Checheng, Shuili, and Jiji.
