The Taipei City Government Tourism and Travel Bureau has specially launched the “Taipei. More Than a Visit – Hottest New Year’s Eve Spots in Taipei Voting” campaign on the eve of the 2011 Taipei International Travel Fair to warm up for the uniquely significant centennial New Year’s Eve event. The public just needs to vote for Taipei’s best New Year’s Eve spot and submit their reasons on the campaign website from October 13 to November 14 to stand a chance to take home over 200 prizes worth a total of NT$100,000, including suitcases and gourmet meal vouchers!

This year’s voting for the best New Year’s Eve spots in Taipei includes nine locations: the Xinyi Shopping District, where you can best soak in the festive atmosphere; Dajia Riverside Park, with its beautiful riverside scenery; the colorful Miramar Ferris Wheel; the spacious National Father Memorial Hall; Rainbow Riverside Park, reflecting beautiful night views; Yangmingshan, full of stars; Elephant Mountain, the best spot for photographing the 101 fireworks; Grand Hotel Taipei, offering the finest views of the fireworks; and Maokong, a great tea-drinking destination. In addition, netizens can also recommend their own secret New Year’s Eve spots. Prizes include: Grand Prize: 25T& high-end suitcase (valued at NT$6,690), Second Prize: practical backpack (valued at NT$1,080), Third Prize: 60-minute massage chair pad (valued at NT$1,100), and over 200 other great gifts.
