The "Tainan Boss" mobile guide app, developed with funding from the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications, is now complete and available for free download on mobile phones and tablets. This Tainan guide app combines content from three travel books and not only features director Wang Mingxia filming ten short videos of Tainan attractions, but also includes hand-drawn guide maps by local Tainan writer Wang Haoyi.

The "Tainan Boss" mobile app is based on three bestselling books by Wang Haoyi — "Tainan Food Tales," "Black Tiles and Old Trees," and "Storytelling at the Temple Entrance" — with "Tainan Food Tales" widely regarded as the bible of Tainan cuisine. The app is completely free for mobile users and offers three language options: Chinese, English, and Japanese, making it easy for tourists to explore Tainan’s attractions and street food.

In addition to providing updated attraction information, the Tainan Boss app allows users to take photos, upload them, and share food discoveries on Facebook. Even better, when used within Tainan, it offers a Google Maps-like street view experience, and users can also switch to Google Maps based on their preferences to ensure they won’t get lost.
