Governor's Hot Spring Guesthouse under Japanese Rule ~ San Francisco Governor's Hot Spring

During the Japanese colonial period, this building served as the Governor's Hot Spring Guesthouse. After Taiwan’s retrocession, the guesthouse was converted into a coastal defense fortification, and the hot spring water source was completely blocked off, leading to its subsequent abandonment.
In 2002, hot spring operators preserved the Renaissance-style architecture of the western-style building during renovation and cleaning, and sought skilled craftsmen to repair the faded and peeling handcrafted tiles, restoring the historical site to its former appearance for the world to see.
The open-air rooftop hot spring bath has clear, slightly emerald-green water and is an acidic sulfur salt spring, known for its efficacy in reducing inflammation, killing bacteria, relieving muscle and bone pain, and beautifying and cleansing the skin.
