The rock band Mayday served as global ambassadors, filming five “Incredible Kaohsiung” promotional short films, with each member starring in their own segment and exploring major attractions such as Love River and Meinong to showcase the incredible beauty of Kaohsiung. The Kaohsiung City Government has also set up an “Incredible Kaohsiung” fan page on Facebook, where the public can vote for their favorite version and participate in a lucky draw. The campaign runs from now until January 31, 2012, with a chance to win limited-edition commemorative items endorsed by Mayday for Kaohsiung, including umbrellas, calendars, and posters.

In the five short films, lead vocalist Ashin takes on a laid-back style, experiencing the slow life in Kaohsiung; band leader Monster transforms into a conductor, creating an incredible melody by harmonizing with the various paces of life in Kaohsiung; bassist Masa enjoys a romantic cruise along Love River, savoring the good life in Kaohsiung; guitarist Stone pedals across the north-south bike routes of Greater Kaohsiung, conveying the healthy and vibrant spirit of the city; and drummer Guanyu visits the Hakka village of Meinong, experiencing the warmth and beauty of handmade crafts.

To help more people get to know Kaohsiung, a dedicated “Incredible Kaohsiung” channel has been launched on YouTube, allowing the public to directly view all the short films. Fans can also visit the official “Incredible Kaohsiung” Facebook fan page to like and comment on their favorite short film and explain why, for a chance to win limited-edition Mayday-endorsed souvenirs for Kaohsiung, including 100 limited-edition umbrellas, 300 copies of the Kaohsiung City calendar, and 350 posters.
