Chain-brand star-rated hotels shine in evaluation; outlying island Penghu earns stars again

The fifth wave of star-rated hotel evaluations by the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications has been released. This time, a total of 34 hotels have joined the ranks of star-rated accommodations. Not only did domestic and international chain brands perform exceptionally well, but Yalin Hotel in Penghu County also became the latest outlying island hotel to be awarded star status, following Penghu Yuantai Hotel and Kinmen Taijin Hotel.

The Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications held its fifth star-rated hotel plaque award ceremony today (the 19th). A total of 34 hotels passed the evaluation and received plaques, including many well-known domestic and international chain brands. International brands include Taipei Shenkeng Holiday Hotel and Taipei W Hotel, while domestic brands include Taileh Hotel Group’s Taroko Legend Hotel (Hualien), Fullon Hotel (Hsinchu), and Cloudland Group’s CITIC Hotel (Taoyuan). In addition, six hotels under the Formosa Hotel group were awarded stars in this evaluation, and Yalin Hotel in Penghu County was also rated as a three-star hotel in this evaluation, becoming the second hotel in Penghu to receive a star rating plaque after Yuantai Hotel.

Since 2009 to date, a total of 147 tourist hotels and general hotels have joined the ranks of star-rated hotels. The star-rated hotel evaluation is conducted every three years to ensure consistent quality and maintain star ratings.
