The Wanggong Fishing Lights Festival features a star-studded lineup as bands Wan Fu and singers An Xi Ya take the stage this Saturday

The annual Changhua “Wanggong Fishing Lights Festival” is set to kick off this Saturday (28th) at Wanggong Fishing Port in Fangyuan Township. This year’s event features five major themes: an ocean music concert, a dazzling fireworks show, the Wanggong Story Museum, a gourmet seafood feast, and a prayer and carnival. The two-day event will be hosted by Xiao Zhong, Cong Cong, Pei Zhen, Huang Xiao Rou, among others, with a 10-minute fireworks display starting at 7:30 p.m.

The lineup of performers at the fishing lights festival includes An Xi Ya, Showlen Maya, Wan Fu Band, Yen Jue, Tofu Girl, Lin Fan, Chen Shi An, Zhu Li Jing, Cao Ya Wen, Chemical Monkeys, Zeng Jing Wen, Fang Jiong Bin, and Huang Wen Xing, among others. In addition, a spectacular fireworks show will take place each evening from 7:30 to 7:40 p.m., with the theme “Summer Love in Wanggong – The Song of Oysters” on July 28, and “Dragon Leaps Over Changhua – Dazzling Starry Sky” on July 29. This year, the Wanggong Oyster Culture is highlighted with the establishment of the Wanggong Story Museum at the Wanggong Fishing Port Direct Sales Center, offering visitors deeper insights into the development of Wanggong Fishing Port and the history of Taiwan's maritime migration.

Beyond the vibrant activities at the Wanggong Fishing Port, the prayer and carnival led by the local faith center Fu Hai Temple brings together talent and folk performances from schools along Changhua’s west coast, showcasing the area’s rich cultural heritage. For visitor convenience, shuttle buses run approximately every 15 minutes between the event venue and Fu Hai Temple throughout the festival.
