Beach Celebrity Rankings: Eddie Peng Tops as Most Representative Beach Boy, Lin Chi-ling as Bikini Icon

On hot summer days, nothing beats slipping into a bikini or swim trunks to join a beach party. A global online hotel booking platform surveyed the Taiwanese public to vote for the most representative “2012 Beach Boy” and “2012 Bikini Girl.” The results crowned the always bold and fit Taiwanese film star Eddie Peng as the top choice (25%), while Jeremy Lin, who just signed with the Houston Rockets, came in second with 14% of the votes. Over the years, Lin Chi-ling has built an international image with her professionalism and beauty, earning her the title of “2012 Bikini Girl” (14%). Ann Hsu (12%), Janet Hsieh (10%), and Rainie Yang (10%) closely followed behind.

This survey was conducted by Hotels.com, which also polled people worldwide on which celebrities best represent the beach lifestyle. Jessica Alba received 16% of the votes, winning the global title of “2012 Bikini Girl.” Singer Beyoncé came in second with a narrow margin (15%), and third place went to the British Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton (5%), who has recently caught the fashion world’s attention. Kate’s appearance on the best bikini body list inevitably draws connections to photos taken during her honeymoon with Prince William in Seychelles, where she was snapped wearing a bikini.

The global celebrity deemed most fitting to represent the “2012 Beach Boy” is David Beckham, who garnered a whopping 23% of the votes. Brad Pitt came in second (13%), and Channing Tatum, known for his role in G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, ranked third (11%). Tatum is set to star in the upcoming movie Magic Mike, soon to be released in Taiwan, where he will showcase his toned physique—offering audiences quite the visual treat.
