French delicacies on the table as the French Food Festival kicks off nationwide on September 22

French cuisine has been recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity. In 2011, the first food festival (Fête de la Gastronomie) was held in France with over 6,000 events, introducing and allowing more people to taste French food. This year’s second edition of the French Food Festival will kick off nationwide from September 22, covering a wide area from Tours through the Centre-Val de Loire region to Avignon.

This year’s festival theme is “terroir.” Cooking is part of people's life culture and represents local characteristics and traditions. This edition of the French Food Festival will feature numerous events across France, including balls, amateur cooking competitions, picnics, wine tastings, floating markets, food tasting activities, cooking classes, and exhibitions, among others. Just as New York, Milan, Paris, and London fashion weeks are must-attend events for trend enthusiasts, this year’s Paris Fashion Week will begin on September 27. Paris will use this new edition of the fashion week to reaffirm its status as the capital of fashion. Over the course of nearly 10 days, a series of fashion shows will be held in Paris, showcasing new trends.
