The “2012 Taipei Goodies” list of 100 best stores, organized by the Taipei City Government, has been announced. The categories include Taipei Mooncakes, Taipei Pineapple Cakes, Taipei Dried Meats, Taipei Teas, Taipei Coffees, Taipei Cloth Bags, and Taipei Trendy T-Shirts, totaling seven major categories. As of September 14, the total number of votes exceeded nearly 6.5 million. The selected stores include century-old shops, popular online stores, and tourist favorites.

From the voting results, it was found that the 15 selected stores for Taipei Mooncakes—such as I-Chun-Yi, Dad’s Fashion Bakery, and Shin Hsin Fang—all retain traditional flavors while also incorporating modern health-conscious and innovative tastes. For Taipei Pineapple Cakes, the 15 selected renowned stores, including Wei Ge Cake Shop, Master Kuo, and Xu Ji Lao Da Fang, are highly competitive in the market and are also go-to spots for tourists visiting Taiwan. The 15 selected stores for Taipei Dried Meats—including Wei Feng Dried Meat Floss, Qian Xiang Foods, and Ju Jia—are mostly well-known local old shops. With a long history in making dried meats, these stores preserve nostalgic traditional flavors, and pay great attention to ingredients, spices, and roasting methods.

Additionally, the 15 selected tea shops for Taipei Teas are representative stores in Taipei, such as You Ji Famous Tea, Wang Jin Zhen Tea Shop, Taiwan Agriculture and Forestry, and Chang Ban Long Xiang, all of which have histories of over a century. For Taipei Coffees, the 15 selected stores—including Roger Café, Bohemian Café, and South American Coffee—source coffee beans from around the world, carefully selecting and refining them to bring the best global flavors to consumers. The 15 selected stores for Taipei Cloth Bags—including Nanchang Button Thread Shop, KoKoCat Handmade Cat Bags, and Little Bear Mommy—all emphasize creative craftsmanship in fabric art, bringing the essence of cloth culture into everyday products. Lastly, the 10 winning stores for Taipei Trendy T-Shirts, a new addition to the Taipei Goodies promotion, including UNITED, under peace, and SQUAD, showcase the creativity and design aesthetics of modern Taipei youth.
