Rock 'n' roll with your meal—Kaohsiung’s Banquet Music Festival kicks off on October 27

Taking place from October 27–28 at Kaohsiung’s True Love Pier and Pier-2 Art Center, the Da Caihong Music Festival will introduce the nation’s first “Rock Banquet,” merging thrilling rock music with Taiwan’s local banquet traditions, allowing audiences to enjoy stir-fried dishes while watching amazing performances by rock musicians. More than 50 artist groups—including Chen Qizhen, Crowd Lu, Sandee Chan, Luan Tan A-Xiang, 4ever, Chairman, and MC HotDog—will perform in relay across four stages simultaneously, with individual day tickets for the banquet rock concerts priced at NT$1,780.

The first “Da Caihong Music Festival” last year attracted over 37,000 participants and received widespread praise. This year’s event is divided into seven zones based on the colors of the rainbow, operating concurrently. In addition to more than 50 rock singers and bands—including Zhang Yunjing, Chen F, Universe People, and Echo—performing on four stages (Big Rainbow, Small Rainbow, Sunlight, and Moonlight), the festival also includes creative arts markets, music industry expert talks, flea markets, and more. The event spans an area equivalent to three Taipei Arenas, making it a rare music carnival in Taiwan that combines pop music, local characteristics, and trendy market culture.

As for the highly anticipated Rock Banquet, it will be held daily from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM on the Moonlight Stage during the event, featuring energetic performances by acts such as Clasher Electric Big Band, Wong Fu, KAO!CHIEN, and 831, allowing participants to enjoy Taiwan’s unique banquet culture while taking in local rock music. Additionally, the Moonlight Stage will host 18 indie rock bands performing in relay from 2:00 PM to 5:30 PM each day. Pre-sale single-day tickets are priced at NT$900, and two-day tickets at NT$1,600. Rock Banquet package tickets are available at NT$1,000 or NT$1,780 per person per day, granting access to either the Moonlight Stage or all festival stages.
