The microfilm "The Happiness Office" begins filming to capture the wonderful moments of Tainan

Another tourism-themed microfilm of Tainan, "The Happiness Office," has officially started filming. The film tells the story of Ayako coming to Taiwan with her grandmother's dream. Armed with a photo of a "divine hand," she searches for her grandmother’s first love, "Tangazawa," a Japanese chef. Ayako finds the "Happiness Office," which specializes in fulfilling dreams, and asks Ling, Big Fatty, and Wall-E for help. The three seemingly comical office members repeatedly hit dead ends, but eventually find the answer in a Japanese restaurant.

Director Chen Wenbin of "The Happiness Office" stated that the creative theme of the microfilm revolves around three aspects: "land," "people," and "history." It aims to showcase the warm and caring attitudes of the people of Tainan helping one another, highlighting the simple qualities of Tainan residents. Coupled with travel destinations serving as the background for the visual story, the kindness and beauty of Tainan people and landscapes complement and enhance each other. The film stars actors Chu Leian (playing Lin Huizi / Mihoko Ayako), Izumi Naoki (playing Tangazawa Saburo / Tangazawa Akira), Liao Lilin (playing Ling), as well as members of Fish Bouncing Industry—Devil and Xia Dafu (playing Wall-E and Big Fatty, respectively). To recreate scenes that interweave past and present, the film will be shot on location at Wude Hall, Old House Little Terrace, Zhenfa Tea House, Jiayi Western Hotel, Wu Wanchun Incense Shop, Linquin Second-hand Bookstore, Yijiu Japanese Restaurant, and Little Ark Japanese Restaurant.

For those interested in traveling to Tainan, the Tainan City Government is currently promoting a Michelin three-star experience tour—"Tainan Historical Stroll" and "Anping Old Street Tour"—offering free guided tours departing regularly on weekends. In addition, you can also choose to take the Taiwan Tourist Shuttle buses 88 (Anping Line) and 99 (Taijiang Line), which pass by many major attractions in Tainan. In addition to single-trip tickets, there are now one-day Lite Passes and three-day Roaming Passes available for purchase, all great options for exploring Tainan.
