Greet the New Year’s sunrise in Alishan with music as accommodation bookings hit 90%

The Alishan Sunrise Impression Music Concert is about to enter its 12th year. Over the years, the Sunrise Impression has left deeply moving and unforgettable memories in the minds of thousands. This year, the event organizer — the Forestry Bureau, Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan, Alishan Forest District Office — has chosen the theme “Drumming. Shaking. Truly Moving,” and will hold the event on December 31 and January 1 in the Alishan Forest Recreation Area, allowing the public to welcome the first light of the new year with melodious music. In addition, accommodation booking rates at major hotels and lodges in the Alishan area have already exceeded 90%. Those planning to head up the mountain for the sunrise are advised to book early.

The Alishan Sunrise Impression Music Concert launched a Facebook fan page in December, and has specially introduced the “Great Deals in Chiayi, Awesome Sunrise” campaign. Members of the public who join the fan page and leave a 50-word year-end message will have a chance to win one double room voucher for the Wenshan Guesthouse within the Alishan Forest Recreation Area for December 31, 2011, and one round-trip double ticket for the “Taiwan Goodbye Alishan Line” bus.
