The popular food brand "Food Republic," under Singapore-listed group BreadTalk, has successfully entered the Breeze Taipei Xindian and Breeze Taichung stores, and will once again celebrate the grand opening of its Dazhi flagship store on December 15. The BreadTalk Group, which currently operates over 38 food spaces globally, made a major push into Taiwan’s F&B market last year. Caesar Tsai, General Manager of Food Republic, said: “Despite the current economic climate, Food Republic’s operations remain strong. We plan to open one new store per year, with the goal of reaching 10 stores by 2016!”

Skilled in creating immersive dining experiences, Food Republic uses a cultural and creative space design concept to recreate the ambiance of early 19th-century Taiwan—such as the Jinguashi Crown Prince Guesthouse, Dihua Street, and the Sanxia Old Street—like sparing no expense to manually lay mosaic floors featuring Hakka floral patterns. The Food Republic has brought in many well-known food vendors. For example, “Toast Box” is an internationally renowned brand offering rich traditional Nanyang coffee and crispy yet soft toast. The authentic Hong Kong-style dim sum restaurant “Hong Kong Canteen” serves premium roast meat rice that stays true to “Stephen Chow” flavors—not only using rooster-patterned bowls for the “Love at First Bite” rice, but also serving thick slices of honey-glazed char siu pork topped with runny sunny-side-up eggs, making diners feel like they’re in a Hong Kong movie. Other offerings include Italian cuisine at “Invincible Kitchen,” Japanese ramen at “Royal Ramen,” premium South Asian mountain flavors at “Tamelle Nepalese Curry,” and Thai creative cuisine at “Thai Yummi,” totaling 28 vendors.

The Dazhi flagship store is scheduled to open at 10:30 AM on Saturday, December 15. The event will feature various consumer appreciation activities, including “Just 10 Dollars” queue items and a challenge game offering thousands of free drinks. A nostalgic comic character—the Old Master Q mascot—will also be present to entertain the crowd, reliving old times and sending visitors home with fond memories.
