Hsinchu New Year’s Eve Gala Features Rainie Yang and Circus, Donate Receipts to Win a Car

Hsinchu City’s New Year’s Eve celebration to welcome 2013 will be held from 7:00 PM on December 31st to 12:30 AM on January 1st, 2013, at the square in front of Hsinchu City Hall. The event will be hosted by famous impressionist artist Xiao Xia and adorable idol Zhong Xinyi, and will feature performances by Rainie Yang, Song Nianyu, Chen Shian, rock band Circus, and other artists. During the event, there will also be a charity raffle where attendees can donate receipts, with prizes including cars and motorcycles among many other major awards.

Hsinchu City’s 2013 New Year’s Eve Gala will take “Wisdom. Happy Living. Welcoming the Year of the Snake” as its theme, combining golden hits with local traditional cultural features of Hsinchu, while also serving as a warm-up event for the 2013 Taiwan Lantern Festival. The program will be hosted by Xiao Xia and Zhong Xinyi, joined by youthful idol Rainie Yang, rock band Circus, Taiwan Pavilion spokesperson Zhu Lijing, online celebrity Guo Shuyao, along with idol singers Song Nianyu, Chen Shian, Bii, Li Peiwei, and Li Jia Wei. A spectacular fireworks show has also been arranged to ring in the new year with excitement.

 

In addition, this year’s New Year’s event includes a lottery, and members of the public can starting now exchange their receipts for lottery tickets at service desks at City Hall, the Cultural Affairs Bureau, the Taxation Bureau, the three district offices, the Image Museum, the Performance Hall, and the certified goods area at the Glass Museum. One receipt can be exchanged for one lottery ticket, with a maximum of ten tickets per person. The draw will take place on the night of the event, with prizes including one 150cc and one 125cc motorcycle, smartphones, and the grand prize of a car. All receipts collected through this exchange will be donated in full to the Genesis Social Welfare Foundation and the Aiheng Qinen Center.
