The square transforms into a starry sky amusement park — a new romantic dating landmark with dazzling lights

After the inauguration of the new Hengchun Railway Station, the old site was demolished, freeing up a large public area. The county government is currently creating a new Hengchun landmark, the “Dawushan Starry Sky Square,” on the east side of the entrance. The unique lattice steel frame design mimics the silhouette of Dawushan Mountain and is interspersed with translucent colored glass for decoration. It not only attracts attention and makes for great photos during the day but has recently officially lit up, making the square shine like a dreamy starry sky at night.

The Dawushan Starry Sky Square is themed around the ridgeline of Dawushan Mountain. Partial areas are covered with grass, planted with native tree species, and equipped with misting facilities to convey the atmosphere of the mountains. The lighting at night has become a new highlight for photos, transforming the station-front corridor into an important urban landscape for transportation and streetscape. Together with the West Pingtung Transfer Station, Pingtung Night Market, and Pingtung Lantern Festival, it draws in tourists and presents a fresh new image.
