Tainan Masago Music Festival: Free Admission Plus Chance to Win Round-Trip Tickets to Japan for Two

The long-awaited music event in southern Taiwan—the 2013 Tainan Masago Music Festival—is set to kick off on August 16 and 17. Unlike the lively, hippie, and rock-oriented Gongliao Ocean Music Festival and Kenting Spring Scream, the Tainan Masago Music Festival highlights local culture, landscape, and environment. Over the two-day event, artists and bands such as Jolin Tsai, Chang Chen-yue, Fish Leong, and Quartet will take turns performing. This year, the festival has also invited Chang San-shih, a key figure behind the Gongliao Ocean Music Festival and known as the godfather of Taiwanese music festivals, to collaborate and create a summer music event tailored for Tainan.

The inaugural Tainan Masago Music Festival last year received an enthusiastic response from music fans, and this year it returns on August 16 and 17, starting at 4:00 PM both days. Carefully curated by Chang San-shih, founder of the Ocean Music Festival, the two-day event will feature themes of “Youthful Folk” and “Passionate Rock.” Special guest Electric Goddess Jolin Tsai, a Golden Melody Award winner, will close the show. Other performers include rock king Chang Chen-yue, hard rock band Quartet, newcomer singer-songwriter Fish Leong, and rising rock band Hush!, among a total of 10 artist acts, promising you the most authentic ocean music festival this summer.

 

This event breaks through the common perception of Tainan as a simple historical ancient capital by integrating music, cultural charm, and ecology. Free admission begins at 12:00 PM during the event period, and in collaboration with travel agencies such as Sanfu Travel, Canxing Travel, and Wufu Travel, specially curated themed packages are offered. The public can also scan the exclusive QR code of the Tainan Masago Music Festival to access exclusive discount information from local hotels and food vendors. Additionally, nearly 40 food stalls will be set up on-site, offering authentic Tainan delicacies, popular traditional snacks, and nostalgic local treats, allowing attendees to savor the best of Tainan’s flavors all in one go. Various exciting prize-giving activities are also planned for the day.
