Bye-bye, Kaohsiung！The Yellow Duck bids farewell to Glory Pier this Sunday

“Yellow Duck Taiwan’s First Stop—Kaohsiung” enters its final three days. To ease the holiday crowds expected on October 19 and 20 for the closing events, traffic controls will be put in place around the area. The Transportation Bureau advises the public to take advantage of free holiday shuttle buses and other mass transit options to come and see the Yellow Duck.

The exhibition of the Yellow Duck will close on October 19 and 20. The Kaohsiung City Government has established a traffic control plan. The controlled area extends east to Chenggong 1st Road (excluding), west to Haibian Road (including), south to Qingnian 2nd Road (including), and north to Wufu 3rd Road (excluding). Bicycle riding is prohibited on the West Harbor Line bike path between the starting point near True Love Pier and Qingnian 2nd Road. Control hours: 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight) on October 19, and 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM on October 20.

 

For the free shuttle buses, the departure time from Exit 1 of Kaohsiung MRT Central Park Station will be moved up to 9:00 AM on both the 19th and 20th. On the 19th, the last bus from Glory Pier will depart as usual at 11:00 PM. On the 20th, in line with the closing event, the final bus will leave at 8:00 PM. During peak hours, bus frequency will be increased with intervals as short as every 5 minutes. The route starts from the bus stop at Exit 1 of Kaohsiung MRT Central Park Station and ends at the bus stop in front of Glory Pier. A dedicated public transport lane will be set up along the route. Left turns by vehicles will be prohibited along the route and on Zhonghua Road (from Wufu Road to Guangfu 3rd Street), except for buses.
