Zhongli New Year's Eve Gala Becomes History This Year!
The Zhongli District Office has decided to cancel its long-running annual New Year’s Eve gala this year. Instead, a Christmas party will be held on December 21, featuring performances by artists such as Show Lo, Jolin Tsai, and Richie Jen. This move also marks the end of the competition for crowds with the Taoyuan County Government’s New Year’s Eve event.

The Zhongli District New Year’s Eve Gala has been held for over 10 years, while the Taoyuan County Government’s version does not have as long a history. Last year, both the Taoyuan County Government and the Zhongli District Office held separate New Year’s Eve galas. However, the Zhongli District Office assembled a lineup of 14 performing groups, surpassing the county government in both funding and scale. This was seen as directly competing with the county government, not only putting the Zhongli District Office in an awkward position but also causing a long-term split in attendance between the two events. As a result, the Zhongli District Office has decided to cancel this year’s New Year’s Eve gala and replace it with a Christmas party.
This year’s Zhongli Christmas party is scheduled to take place from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM on December 21. Artists such as Show Lo, Jolin Tsai, and Richie Jen are expected to perform live. The exact venue will be announced by the Zhongli District Office.
