A Warm Christmas in Tainan: Mayor’s Residence Lights Up with Festive Decorations

As the Christmas season draws near, in addition to lighting up the main Christmas tree in front of the National Museum of Taiwan Literature, as well as the festive lights at Tainan Justice of Peace Memorial Park, Zhongzheng Road, Zhongshan Road, Tainan Railway Station, and Xinying Railway Station earlier this month, the Tainan City Government will also switch on the Christmas lights at the Mayor’s Residence on December 13th at 6:00 PM. Through a heartwarming lighting ceremony, the event will feature performances of White Christmas carols, poetry readings, and prayers, creating a cozy and caring holiday atmosphere.
Besides the Mayor’s Residence, Tainan also boasts beautiful Christmas lights at the National Museum of Taiwan Literature, Tainan Justice of Peace Memorial Park, Zhongzheng Road, Zhongshan Road, Tainan Railway Station, and Xinying Railway Station, transforming the ancient city into a charming Christmas town. Tainan City Government Tourism Bureau Director Chen Jun-an stated that Tainan is continuously evolving into a happy city where people can “dream, work, fall in love, get married, and live leisurely,” as described by the writer Ye Shi-tao. Therefore, unlike previous years, the lighting design for the Mayor’s Residence this year features LED lights adorning the exterior walls of the building, creating a warm and cozy ambiance that fosters a joyful and dreamlike atmosphere. The lights will be switched on starting December 13th and remain on display until January 5th, 2014, from 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM each evening, with opportunities for visitors to take photos.

The main Christmas tree in front of the National Museum of Taiwan Literature, along with the lights at Tainan Justice of Peace Memorial Park, Zhongzheng Road, Zhongshan Road, Tainan Railway Station, and Xinying Railway Station, will remain lit until February 14th, 2014. During the Christmas season in December, there will also be holiday performances and a series of celebratory events by the main Christmas tree at the museum and at various churches.
