Among them, this year’s debut collaboration with renowned Japanese pressed flower artist Masao Sugino — the “Spring Blossom series” — features a design concept that transforms real cherry blossoms into original patterns, emphasizing three key elements of cherry blossoms in full bloom: form, color, and fragrance, appealing to cherry blossom enthusiasts.

To allow consumers to experience distinct cherry blossom aesthetics, Afternoon Tea simultaneously unveils three major series: the Spring Blossom series, the Gorgeous Court series, and the Premium Seisen Kiln series. The Spring Blossom series, in collaboration with Japanese pressed flower master Masao Sugino, highlights pressed flower art as the visual design highlight of its products. Its creative inspiration stems from the literal meaning of BLOOM (flowers in full bloom), with luxurious floral imagery visible throughout the new collection. For its popular tableware line, Afternoon Tea also introduces three key design concepts: “floral totem designs,” “spring-inspired colors,” and “unique decorative accents.” In addition to enjoying the fun of table setting, these designs bring a touch of spring to everyday meals.

Masao Sugino, renowned for his pressed flower art, is a leading figure in Japan’s pressed flower creation scene, actively involved in research, creation, and promotion. In 1991, he established the “Institute for Flowers and Greenery,” dedicated to the research, development, and promotion of pressed flowers, and remains a top artist committed daily to exploring, creating, and sharing the natural beauty of plants. Sugino refers to his unique flower-and-green art as “botanical art” and once created an entirely new style of pressed flower artwork themed around his original “Healing Series,” combining photography.
