The Tainan Canoe Festival is a must-see for summer travelers in Tainan!

The "2014 Tainan Canoe Festival" will offer a variety of water recreation experience activities on July 2–3 at the Sicao Mangrove Green Tunnel in Annan District, on July 12–13 at Anping Harbor (Jincheng Recreation Wharf), on July 19–20 and 26–27 at Deyuanpi Dutch Village in Liuying District, and on August 2–3 at Hulu Pi Nature Park in Guantian District, providing the public with opportunities to enjoy water-related leisure and recreational activities during holidays.

Through the promotion of green-energy leisure activities, the main goals of this event are to provide the public with opportunities for water-based recreation during holidays, increase participation in water leisure activities, foster habitual engagement in water sports, promote safety awareness related to water activities, and enhance public knowledge of water activity safety. We hope citizens from all walks of life will join in.

Tourism Bureau Director Chen Jun-an pointed out that since the merger of the county and city, water recreation activities have been one of the key policy projects promoted by the Tourism Bureau. In recent years, efforts have included conducting surveys of the city’s various water bodies, assessing water quality and conditions, formulating and announcing relevant regulations, and organizing regular water recreation experience activities during the summer vacation each year. This year marks the fourth consecutive year, and by integrating past achievements and experience, the "2014 Canoe Festival" has been specially launched. The Sicao Green Tunnel has been chosen as the starting venue to promote the city’s diverse eco-friendly, healthy, low-carbon, and water-connected tourism offerings. In this oceanic nation and water-loving city, we aim to boost the tourism appeal of water recreation and invite visitors from all over to Tainan to enjoy a slow-paced, relaxing light travel experience.
