Taichung’s Artful Living Scene: Red Dot Hotel Debuts Its Iconic Slide

Organized by the Taichung City Government's Cultural Affairs Bureau, the city’s Art Highlights initiative celebrates its tenth anniversary this year under the theme “Artful Living Scene,” featuring a series of events. On October 1 (Wednesday), a unveiling ceremony was held at one of this year’s newly added highlights—“Red Dot Hotel.” The Art Highlights lightbox and the RED DOT neon lights of the Red Dot Hotel were illuminated simultaneously, marking the official launch of this year’s Art Highlights—“Artful Living Scene” series of activities.The four new art highlights added this year are Red Dot Hotel, TADA Ark Music & Art Performance Space, HABITAT Habitat Café, and Ruoyin Farm.Bringing the total number of Art Highlights across the city to 43.

Red Dot Hotel

Red Dot Hotel (formerly Galaxy Hotel) is located in central Taichung, adjacent to the Zhonghua Road Night Market and the Nisshin Theater (formerly known as the Zhonghua Theater). It not only offers a perfect view of the bustling night market in the old city, but also serves as a local cultural playground where old and new blend. Red Dot Hotel combines stunning vintage elements with sensory aesthetics, reflecting the city’s emotive and ever-changing character. It pays homage to Taiwan’s golden era while offering a modern take on nostalgic experiences.

TADA ArkTADA Ark Music & Art Performance Space

The TADA Ark Music & Art Performance Space, akin to “The Arts Dreaming Ark,” is situated within a century-old former brewery in the Taichung Cultural and Creative Industries Park. It features a professional performance stage, lighting, and sound equipment, and is built around four core concepts: music, creativity, environment, and cuisine. It offers a culturally meaningful performance venue for musicians of all scales and genres. Covering 200 ping (approximately 660 square meters), TADA Ark functions as a versatile space for concerts, press conferences, product launches, and large-scale gatherings.
