2014 Xinshe Flower Sea Festival Kicks Off – 35 Hectares of Vibrant Blooms for a Romantic Getaway in Taichung

Taichung’s annual autumn tourism extravaganza is about to begin！The 2014 Xinshe Flower Sea and Taichung International Flower Carpet Festival will run from November 8 to December 7, spanning a full month that includes five public holidays！

This year’s Xinshe Flower Sea is designed with the spirit of a celebration, themed “A Field of Blooms, One Heart, One Joy,” featuring 5 hectares of vibrant flower seas. The endless floral landscape is divided into a “Broadcasting Landscape Green Manure Area” dominated by green manure crops such as sunn hemp, sunflowers, and rapeseed, creating a golden, dazzling countryside sea of flowers, as well as an anticipated cosmos area with blossoms swaying in the wind. Another section, the “Landscape Flower Area,” will plant a variety of flowering plants in geometric patterns, using contrasts in depth and elevation to highlight a rich, colorful palette. Winding pathways are interspersed throughout, allowing visitors to enjoy the beauty of the flower sea from multiple perspectives.

The 2014 Xinshe Flower Sea Festival will be held as usual at the No. 2 Nursery of the Taichung District Agricultural Research and Extension Station in Xinshe District (at the intersection of Xie Xing Street and Xing Yi Street). The flower carpet event showcases the city’s tourism highlights and iconic urban imagery, drawing inspiration from the vitality, healing power, and warmth of flowers to reflect Taichung’s lively and creative urban character.To encourage visitors to take public transportation, shuttle bus services will be available on weekends at three pick-up points: Taiyuan Parking Lot, Fengyuan Railway Station, and Dongshi Riverside Park. This year, the Taiyuan Parking Lot will also offer shuttle services on weekdays. Everyone is welcome to come and enjoy the romantic flower sea in Xinshe.
