China – Victoria Harbour, Hong Kong<
Hong Kong was named one of the world's top ten distinctive New Year's Eve cities in 2012. On December 31 this year, a major countdown celebration—"New Year 'New World' Hong Kong Countdown"—will be held in Victoria Harbour to welcome 2015. The event weaves together fireworks, lights, and music into a dazzling pyrotechnic and musical show. Notably, this year also features snowfall effects and scented elements, allowing audiences not only to enjoy a close-up view but also to experience a multi-sensory celebration unlike any before.

The fireworks are centered around the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and are launched over the sea and atop skyscrapers in Wan Chai and Admiralty, lighting up the night sky of Victoria Harbour. This year’s show also includes special ring-shaped patterns and rainbow-colored fireworks, presenting the first rainbow of 2015 to the audience. The large LED screens on the façade of the Convention and Exhibition Centre will also display colorful images and multilingual greetings to enhance the overall visual spectacle.

Australia – Sydney

Sydney, located near the International Date Line, is the second place in the world after New Zealand to greet the New Year’s dawn. Its iconic fireworks display, known for its vivid themes, is set off from the Harbour Bridge and six barges around the harbor. The brilliant bursts of light always capture everyone’s attention, making it a globally popular New Year’s destination. With the beautiful harbor scenery complemented by the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge, the annual fireworks attract at least two million people to count down together. In addition to the spectacular fireworks, there are also thrilling aerial stunts performed by planes flying around the Sydney Harbour Bridge during the long wait. For those who can’t wait until the end, a smaller fireworks show is thoughtfully presented at 9 PM.
