Strawberry Season Is Here！8 Recommended Spots Across Taiwan for Strawberry Picking Fun

Strawberry season has arrived, and those delicate, juicy strawberries are a hit with both kids and adults. Until April, there are opportunities all over Taiwan to step into strawberry farms and enjoy fun strawberry-picking experiences with family and loved ones, and strawberry picking isn’t only in Miaoli—there are also many strawberry farms in eastern and southern Taiwan where visitors can come to harvest. Below is a list of eight strawberry-picking spots for travelers who want to enjoy the fun.

● Taipei Neihu
Nestled within the Baishihu community in Neihu, the strawberry season here runs from approximately December each year to May of the following year. Currently, there are nine sightseeing strawberry farms mainly concentrated along Bishan Road (in the Baishihu area) and around Dahu Street. Most strawberry farms in Neihu are covered by greenhouses or trellises, so you don’t have to worry about muddy conditions when picking.

In addition to strawberry picking, you can also visit nearby attractions such as the Baishihu Suspension Bridge and the Couple Trees for a fun and enriching urban strawberry-picking trip！

● Hsinchu Guanxi
The strawberry season in Guanxi Township runs from around mid-November each year to April of the following year, with about 18 hectares of land dedicated to strawberry cultivation. These farms are mostly located along County Highway 118, with some also along Provincial Highway 3, making it the largest strawberry-growing area in Hsinchu County. Strawberry farming in Guanxi is not limited to traditional soil cultivation but primarily uses the pot-tube planting method, resulting in larger and higher-quality fruits.

Hsinchu Guanxi strawberries are somewhat famous, and their nearly five-month season is divided into four periods. Due to high visitor numbers during the New Year holiday, the first period’s strawberries were in such high demand that the season ended early, with the second period expected to begin in early February！

● Miaoli Dahu

From around December each year to April of the following year is the peak season for Dahu strawberries. In addition to Dahu Township, neighboring areas such as Sanyi Township, Zhuolan Town, and Shitan Township also offer great opportunities for fun strawberry-picking trips, as well as side trips to local old streets and hot springs along the way.
