Flowers bloom in full splendor in May. In addition to the blooming golden shower trees and hydrangeas, the annual Alpine Rhododendron Flower Season at Hehuan Mountain National Forest Recreation Area has also arrived. From now until the end of May is the best time to admire the flowers. Head up high to enjoy the views of the Hehuan Mountain ranges, where the beautiful alpine rhododendrons are in full bloom, creating a refreshing and delightful scene.

The Hehuan Mountain ranges consist of Hehuan Main Peak, East Peak, North Peak, West Peak, Shimen Mountain, Shimen North Peak, and Hehuan Sharp Peak. East Peak features steep and majestic terrain. Visitors can start their climb from behind the Songxue Building or the entrance near the ski lodge. Winding through the Yushan bamboo grass, you’ll reach the summit with panoramic views of Hehuan Sharp Peak, Shimen Mountain, and Hehuan Main Peak — an exceptional vantage point. Along the trail, you may even encounter birds like the yellow-browed tit or vinaceous rosefinch.
