2015 Taiwan Gourmet Food Exhibition: Discount Meal Vouchers & A Feast of Delicious Cuisine

The renowned Taiwan Gourmet Food Exhibition, after a two-year hiatus, is back in full swing from July 17 to 20 at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1. Organized by the Taiwan Visitors Association this year under the theme “The Good Food Era,” the exhibition features five major themes—art of food, vessels of food, ingredients of food, journeys of food, and local delicacies—spread across 16 themed pavilions. With celebrity chefs, over 100 renowned hotels and restaurants, more than 50 types of popular street snacks, and 620 booths in total, the event highlights Taiwan’s rich local ingredients, culinary sophistication, cooking skills, and diverse aspects of food tourism. The exhibition is expected to attract over 80,000 visitors, injecting a strong boost into Taiwan’s gourmet food industry. Exhibitors will go all out, offering generous tastings of premium dishes and a variety of attractive promotional offers that are expected to spark a shopping frenzy.

During the exhibition period, in addition to daily live cooking demonstrations by chefs from top restaurants and hotels, discounted meal vouchers from major hotel and catering groups are a must-see highlight for visitors. The Fu Ga Yi Fang’s Deluxe Abalone Trio Combination is available at an incredible 28% of the original price—just 99 NTD, the lowest price at the venue. Four light meal sandwiches at the Lixiangyuan (salad bar) of the Fuhwa Hotel cost only 1,588 NTD, equivalent to a 60% discount. The Lao Ye Hotel Group’s Joint Dining Vouchers offer a 62% discount, while lunch sets at the Tianxianglou of the Grand Formosa Regent Taipei and evening sets at the Basilique Hall come with 65% and 69% off vouchers respectively. The Grand Hyatt Taipei’s San Fan Meili Hua and Zhou Niu Sukiyaki offer 67% off, and the Park Hyatt Taipei’s Beautiful Chinese Restaurant provides a 69% discount for groups of four, plus a 980 NTD lunch seafood buffet for individuals. Hotels are rolling out highly attractive meal vouchers, making this the perfect opportunity for food lovers to dine in style.

In addition, snack vendors at the exhibition are also offering plenty of deals, featuring everything from the comprehensive spicy combo at Mayor’s Stinky Tofu King, cool master’s pig intestines and oyster vermicelli, mango meat ice cream, to Yilan scallion pancakes and Frog Hits Milk. There are not only on-site purchase discounts but also tasting events.

The Jade Food Taiwan Theme Pavilion highlights the continuous advancement of Taiwan’s cuisine. In addition to the dishes themselves, beauty in tableware is also highly emphasized. During the exhibition, 40 resident chefs take turns showcasing their exceptional culinary skills. Foreign chefs such as Chef Yamaguchi Yoshio from Okura Prestige Taipei and Frank Haasnoot from Mandarin Oriental, Taipei, also present creative dishes on site.
