With characters like the endlessly proliferating "Tomie" and the hauntingly black, floating beauty of "The Balloon Man," which helped establish him as a master of Japanese horror manga, Junji Ito is scheduled to hold the "Junji Ito Horror Aesthetics Experience Exhibition" at Huashan 1914 Creative Park on December 14, challenging fans to confront the darkest depths of their inner fears.

This exhibition takes "experiencing horror firsthand" as its core concept and features a diverse range of content that promises much anticipation. To ensure visitors can fully enjoy the exhibition in comfort, starting December 4, entry will follow an Expo-standard "appointment-only" system to maintain optimal viewing quality. Ticket holders can log in to the official reservation system on the Junji Ito Horror Aesthetics Experience Exhibition website and book their preferred time slot using their ticket barcode. Those who do not make prior reservations can also enter via on-site queuing. In addition to a brand-new short story, “The Balloon Man,” exclusively created for this exhibition, classic horror scenes such as “Tomie” and “The Blood-Tree” will be recreated, giving fans a rare glimpse into the author’s studio.

To allow fans to experience the allure of Junji Ito ahead of time, a limited-edition “Special Set” of 10,000 copies — exclusively authorized by the “Junji Ito Horror Aesthetics Experience Exhibition” — has been on sale exclusively via Books.com.tw since August 17. This set includes exhibition tickets as well as a classic collection of original manuscript postcards and notebooks exclusively from Junji Ito himself.
