Over a hundred houses turned into a colorful canvas—Rainbow Town is incredibly vibrant!

The Mexican government, in an effort to beautify the town, collaborated with the graffiti group "Germen Crew" and sociologists to paint the homes of over a hundred households in Palmitas with various bright and vivid colors, creating a completely new look. This not only attracted tourists to the area but also effectively reduced local crime, becoming a focal point of media attention.

Palmitas is located in the Pachuca region of Mexico, with a total of 452 households and a population of over 1,800. It was once a town plagued by crime. This project painted a total of 209 houses, transforming the originally plain white buildings into a series of irregularly arranged, bright and colorful houses along the hillside. Due to the massive scale of the project, it took the graffiti team two and a half months to complete. During this time, it also brought about a unique transformation in the town—from initially only the graffiti team working on the project, to later having many local residents voluntarily helping out, which significantly boosted the community’s cohesion and made interactions among residents much more lively.
