In Wakayama Prefecture, Japan, there is an underwater mailbox recognized by the Guinness World Records as the deepest in the world. To send a letter, you have to dive underwater, and every day a diving postman comes to collect mail—very unique.

This underwater mailbox is located about 100 meters off the Kukizaki Coast in Wakayama Prefecture, at a depth of approximately 10 meters. In 2002, it was registered by the Guinness World Records as the deepest mailbox in the world. Actually, it originated in 1999 as part of an event during the Southern Kii Bearia Experience Expo. After the event ended, this popular mailbox was preserved and has since become a local attraction. To this day, a postman still dives down every day to collect mail, receiving an average of 10 letters daily, which can go up to 50 during school holidays or weekends. The letters are then sent all over the world.
