To welcome the arrival of 2016, Taipei 101 has released its New Year’s fireworks animation video ahead of time. This year’s show is themed “Nature is Future — Return to Simplicity and Embrace Nature.” The music composition blends Eastern and Western cultures, presenting a more diverse range of styles and more innovative patterns. The display is expected to last a total of 238 seconds, with 30,000 fireworks launched — the longest in history — making it highly anticipated.

The 2016 Taipei 101 New Year’s fireworks show is in collaboration with GameArt Technology BungBungame, with the theme “Nature is Future — Return to Simplicity and Embrace Nature.” It aims to showcase Taiwan to the world through an exciting New Year’s Eve fireworks display, helping international friends understand that Taiwan is a country rich in natural ecological diversity, featuring high mountains and oceans, allowing more people to get to know this land better.

To break away from past fireworks presentation formats, the approach has been innovated once again. This time, local climbing experts were specially commissioned to assist in installing launch platforms on the exterior walls of each floor of the building using

In addition, the total carbon emissions generated by this year's Taipei 101 fireworks show amount to 9,707 kilograms. To support environmental sustainability, Taipei 101 will turn off the building’s exterior lighting (excluding the top communication tower lights) for eight days from January 1st to January 8th, saving electricity equivalent to 10,327 kilograms of carbon emissions to offset the carbon output caused by this fireworks display.
