Many passengers prefer window seats to enjoy the stunning views of the clouds outside the cabin. But if you find the view through the small window somewhat limited and unexciting, then get ready for the upcoming 360-degree in-flight observation deck, which offers a panoramic view of the scenery outside the aircraft.

Given that in-flight entertainment options have remained largely unchanged for years, an aerospace engineering company called Windspeed Technologies has designed a 360-degree all-round observation deck called SkyDeck, offering passengers a more diverse and enjoyable flying experience. This observation deck will be located near the tail of the aircraft on the upper fuselage, constructed with fighter-jet-grade transparent materials in a semicircular dome shape. Passengers can access SkyDeck via an internal staircase, and enjoy rotating seats inside the deck to view the scenery from different angles. Additionally, a GPS system will be installed to provide real-time information about the aircraft's location.

Currently, this new flying experience is targeted at VIP seats on private jets and as a paid option on commercial flights. Windspeed claims that SkyDeck has largely addressed common concerns such as pressure, temperature differences, UV exposure, and noise, ensuring a safe environment. Several airlines have already expressed interest, and it is expected that in the near future, many will have the chance to experience the wonder of flying above the clouds.
