A Hundred Hectares of Flower Sea Greet the New Year, Accompanied by a Giant Rocking Horse

Continuing the craze, Sanyi Township has once again created a 120-hectare landscape flower sea and introduced a rocking rocking horse and a Monkey Year balloon as the adorable highlights of the 2016 Flower Sea Carnival, bringing a strong festive atmosphere to the upcoming New Year’s Day and Lunar New Year.

To welcome the arrival of the 2016 Sanyi Flower Sea Balloon Carnival, the Sanyi Township Office created an 8.3-meter-long, 3.1-meter-wide, and 6.4-meter-high balloon rocking horse. Combined with elements of the Monkey Year, they introduced a lucky monkey to accompany the rocking horse, forming an 8.8-meter-tall, three-story-tall “Instant Success” (Ma Shang Feng Hou) combo, along with eight super-large balloons that are 3 meters high and 2.5 meters wide to welcome everyone to Sanyi to enjoy the flower sea. The event site features flat and open fields with few farmhouses, complemented by endless flower seas. On clear days, you can even see Mount Dabajian in the distance, creating a serene landscape painting.

The flower sea is distributed across two areas: the Shuanghe Redevelopment Zone at the end of Provincial Highway 196 and Tiansongpi. It is expected to bloom in two phases starting from New Year’s Day. The first phase will be open for about half a month starting on New Year’s Day, covering approximately 120 hectares; the second phase will be during the Lunar New Year period (from New Year’s Eve to the Lantern Festival), located next to the Sanyi Gas Station, covering about 20 hectares. The main flower variety is yellow cosmos. On the opening day of New Year’s Day, the township office has prepared 500 rocking horse pencils to give away for free.
