New Landmark: A Dreamlike Starry Sky Prairie Made of One Million Recycled Bottles

Inspired by Van Gogh’s famous painting “Starry Night,” Keelung’s Yongheng Cultural and Creative Park has created a large-scale land art installation using 4 million recycled bottles. The installation officially lit up for a trial run on the 26th. Spanning 13,000 pyeong, the Starry Sky Prairie offers breathtaking views both day and night.

Yongheng Cultural and Creative Park specially invited Professor Wang Zhenwei from Changhua Normal University to collaborate. Together, they collected 4 million recycled bottles from all over Taiwan for reuse, using the 13,000 pyeong grassland as a canvas. By blending environmental sustainability with artistic vision, they recreated Van Gogh’s “Starry Night” within the park. During the day, the beautiful Starry Sky Prairie presents a vibrant display against the green grass, while at night, LED lighting adds a completely different dimension to the beauty of the starry sky. The Starry Sky Prairie was illuminated for a trial run on the 26th and will officially open in January. This Starry Sky Prairie will also aim to challenge the Guinness World Records and become a new landmark of Keelung.
