Taichung’s New Landmark Riverside Scenic Spot for Stunning Photo Ops

The Fazi River is a key urban gateway for Taichung. Following the completion of the Liuchuan River project, Taichung is set to welcome another beautiful "welcoming river." The Taichung City Water Resources Bureau plans to create another Instagram-worthy destination along the picturesque Fazi Riverbanks, featuring landscape art, waterfront promenades, and three-dimensional letter landmarks. At night, the illuminated site will be dazzlingly bright and even visible from the high-speed rail!

In its early days, Taichung’s Fazi River was named for its scenic waters, often frequented by anglers and bamboo raft users. Now, the Taichung City Water Resources Bureau plans to develop the left bank of the Fazi River section from Yongchun East Road to Taichung HSR Station, installing landscape art, waterfront walkways, and a three-dimensional letter landmark. This will create an 1.8 km “Gateway Welcoming Riverside Corridor” that combines riverside scenery with water-friendly spaces. Currently, construction is 90% complete and is expected to finish in March.

Among them, the most striking “TAICHUNG” three-dimensional letter landmark has quickly become a major attraction. The massive 4-meter-high letters, paired with LED lighting, display a dazzling array of colorful hues at night. Though the riverside corridor isn’t officially open yet, it has already drawn many visitors, adding a romantic glow to the Fazi River at night.

The 1.8 km “Gateway Welcoming Riverside Corridor” is highly anticipated and is expected to become another popular new photo spot in Taichung. As the entire welcoming riverside corridor is not yet completed or open to the public, please follow the instructions of on-site staff during construction to avoid injuries from machinery or sharp objects.
