Celebrate the New Year in Kaohsiung！ The Lunar New Year Goods Street kicks off on the 27th

As the Lunar New Year approaches, this year’s Lunar New Year Goods Street in Kaohsiung will open on the 27th. It will kick off at Sanchongzhong Street, the largest distribution hub for dried and specialty goods in southern Taiwan, with Mayor Chen Chu on-site to distribute her final New Year red envelopes during her tenure.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the “Celebrate the New Year in Kaohsiung” event. On the 24th, the city’s Economic Development Bureau and various business districts held a press conference to announce that starting this Saturday, activities will be held in 11 business districts including Sanchongzhong Street, Nan Hua, Hou Yi, Liu He, Xin Jue Jiang, Xing Zhong, Zhong Xiao, Qing Nian, Guang Hua, Jia Xian, and Central Park. Everyone is welcome to come to Kaohsiung to shop for New Year goods.

Zheng Jiesong, deputy director of the Economic Development Bureau, said that the business district marketing campaign for “Celebrate the New Year in Kaohsiung” will once again be led by Sanchongzhong Street this year, offering 50 special lucky bags worth NT$60,000 each for the public to grab.

Chen Yutong, chairperson of Sanchongzhong Street, said that Sanchongzhong Street is the largest Lunar New Year Goods Street in southern Taiwan. This year, it will be specially decorated with large red lanterns and themed lighting both inside and outside the street area, creating a festive atmosphere so that citizens can shop for New Year goods in a joyful and celebratory environment.
