The UK-based independent non-profit research organization Skytrax announced the results of its 2016 World Airport Survey on the 17th, with Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport retaining its title as the 3rd best airport in the world (for airports handling 30–40 million passengers annually) and ranking 9th among the best airports in Asia. Additionally, it placed within the top 10 in various categories, including World’s Best Airport Staff, Asia’s Best Airport Staff, World’s Best Immigration Service, World’s Best Security Check, World’s Best Leisure Facilities, and World’s Cleanest Airport, earning recognition across multiple fronts.

Although Taoyuan Airport saw a slight drop in its global ranking among the top 100 airports—from 17th last year to 20th this year—due to factors such as runway renovation and single-runway operations, as well as aging airport infrastructure, its efforts to enhance cleanliness and service quality have begun to pay off. This has led to its debut in the top 10 of the World’s Cleanest Airports.

In the 2015 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey results recently released by the Airports Council International (ACI), Taoyuan International Airport also retained its 2nd place ranking among global airports handling between 25–40 million passengers annually. It received high praise from international travelers in categories evaluating various soft services and staff performance, demonstrating that the service quality, dining and retail offerings, and cleanliness and comfort at Taoyuan Airport are highly competitive on a global scale.

To provide passengers with even better service, the airport company not only completed the renovation of its two runways last year but is also actively upgrading its taxiways. It is fully committed to constructing a third terminal, planning a third runway, and continuously updating its aging facilities. It is believed that even greater achievements will be made in the future.
