The Most Beautiful Wisteria Feast: The Ashikaga Flower Park’s Great Wisteria Festival Begins

Once ranked among CNN’s World’s 10 Most Beautiful Places by CNN, the “Ashikaga Flower Park” will host the “Wisteria Story – Great Wisteria Festival” from April 16 to May 22. During this time, a flower trellis spanning 1,000 square meters will be in full bloom with approximately 150-year-old wisteria, alongside tunnels formed by white and yellow wisteria varieties. Walking through them, visitors can enjoy the faint floral fragrance that is simply intoxicating.

Famous for its wisteria, Ashikaga Flower Park features a wide variety of flowers and landscape designs. Among its wisteria displays are three trellises covering 300 tsubo each, plus an eight-layered giant wisteria trellis also spanning 300 tsubo. There’s also an 80-meter-long white wisteria tunnel and a yellow wisteria tunnel — a rare sight in the world. During the Great Wisteria Festival, the park will also present a nighttime light show, allowing visitors to experience the beauty of wisteria after dark. In addition, starting mid-April, up to 5,000 azalea plants along with various other flowers in the park will gradually bloom, making Ashikaga Flower Park lively and breathtakingly beautiful.
