New Recreational Spot in Yilan: The Lianpi Lake Lakeside Trail Officially Opens

The lakeside trail around Lianpi Lake in Sanxing Township, Yilan County has officially opened. With a total length of nearly 1 kilometer, it takes about 30 minutes to walk around the entire loop, allowing visitors to enjoy the scenic landscapes of Lianpi Lake and immerse themselves in the refreshing forest air. In the future, the area will also develop leisure canoeing activities and sightseeing experiences to boost tourism-related business in the surrounding areas.

The original trail around Lianpi Lake was built along the eastern lakeside, where visitors could only walk back and forth on the same path. The Sanxing Township Office secured a subsidy of NT$9 million from the Tourism Bureau to first develop a natural forest trail on the western side, then extend the existing lakeside path, linking both ends to create a brand-new eco-friendly lakeside trail suitable for all ages and perfect for family outings.

There are many other attractions near the Lianpi Lake Scenic Area, such as Tiansongpi Railway Station, Songluo National Trail, and the highly popular Qingshui Geothermal Park — all great options for family day trips. The Sanxing Township Office hopes to connect these nearby tourist spots to jointly promote tourism in Yilan.
