Want instant noodles? Just cook them in-store—convenience stores bring in popular Korean noodle cookers

It’s not unusual to eat instant noodles in convenience stores, and many stores in Taiwan offer hot water for customers. But in South Korea, besides hot water, there are also “noodle cookers” that can fully cook noodles in just 4 minutes, significantly reducing the traditional wait time for boiling water. Now, this “self-service noodle cooker” has been introduced to Taiwan’s convenience stores and can already be found in some outlets.

Taiwan’s convenience store FamilyMart has imported noodle cookers from Korea, with a total of 20 units installed in various outlets across the country. In just a short time, you can cook instant noodles yourself, greatly improving the convenience of enjoying them. FamilyMart plans to install 100 self-service noodle cookers by the end of January, targeting schools, leisure spots, business offices, and enclosed commercial areas as primary installation locations.

Not only that, in coordination with the installation of Korea’s noodle cookers, FamilyMart has also launched Japan-Korea limited-edition instant noodles, including Korea’s famous stir-fried rice cakes and Shin Ramyun, as well as several exclusive limited-edition Japanese ramen. These are sold in combo sets priced between 59 and 139 TWD, paired with raw eggs and special material noodle bowls.

The operation of Korea’s self-service noodle cooker is simple, and staff will also provide guidance during checkout. In just 4 minutes, you can enjoy steaming hot freshly cooked ramen. In addition to the currently offered raw eggs, vegetables and hot pot seasonings will also be added for use with the cooker in the future, allowing everyone to enjoy a richer variety of noodle flavors.
