Change the world with illustrations！The Asian Illustration Awards debuts in Taichung

The annual illustration extravaganza "2016 Asian Illustration Annual Awards" grandly opens at the Taichung Cultural and Creative Industries Park, running from July 20 to August 30. The exhibited works include internationally renowned illustrated characters such as "Hatsune Miku" illustrated by siomidu and dera_fury, the banana characters from Taiwan's LINE original stickers, the famous Japanese illustrated character "Ugly Pencil Head" illustrated by uQ Shunjun, Singapore's well-known illustrator Mr. Li Gaofeng, and Hong Kong's watercolor artist Mr. Chan Shun Hong... and other domestic and international renowned illustrators making their charming appearances！

This exhibition is an international showcase featuring 9 countries, 252 illustrators, and over 1,200 artworks. The Asian Illustrators Yearbook Project began in 2014, gathering 266 illustrators in Taiwan to launch the 2015 Asian Illustrators Yearbook. In 2016, it expanded across all of Asia, including Taiwan, Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore... and other regions. In addition to compiling exquisite works by multiple illustrators into a single volume, it has also extended to major cities across Asia to host physical exhibitions.

The "2016 Asian Illustration Annual Awards" is organized by the Asian Illustration Association, with its first stop at the Taichung Cultural and Creative Industries Park. This exhibition area is thoughtfully curated around different themes, offering visitors diverse sensory experiences and allowing them to view the works of many renowned illustrators. During the exhibition period, several well-known illustrators will also be present to create artwork and interact with attendees. Additionally, fans of illustrative works can find related merchandise in the exhibition's sales area.
